Suriname
The assessment study of Suriname on the status of trade in biodiversity-based
products and services in the Amazon region, prepared under the formulation
phase of the Regional BioTrade Programme, selected 3 product groups that meet
BioTrade criteria and have real trade potential in the Amazon region. Ecological
services, such as carbon sequestration, were identified as a potential area.
The assessment study shall be soon validated through a workshop with key stakeholders
in Paramaribo.
