Peru
The technical focal point of the National BioTrade Programme
in Peru, "Comissión para la Promoción de Exportaciones - Prompex", conducted
the assessment study of Peru on the status of trade in biodiversity-based products
and services in the Amazon region. The study, prepared under the formulation
phase of the Regional BioTrade Programme, selected 3 product groups that meet
BioTrade criteria and have real trade potential in the Amazon region. The assessment
study was discussed and validated with key stakeholders in the Amazon region
from July to August 2006.
