Ecuador
The technical focal point of the National BioTrade Programme in Ecuador, "Corporación de Promoción de Exportaciones e Inversiones - Corpei", conducted the assessment study of Ecuador on the status of trade in biodiversity-based products and services in the Amazon region. The study, prepared under the formulation phase of the Regional BioTrade Programme, selected 4 product groups that meet BioTrade criteria and have real trade potential in the Amazon region. It was discussed and validated with key stakeholders in Quito on 1 February 2006.
