High-level meeting organized by the Secretariat of the Andean Community on
 "Advances in the implementation of the Regional Biodiversity Strategy of the
Andean Community", and a dinner "Gastronomy and Biodiversity: Aromas
and Flavours from the Andes and the Amazon"

Objective


The objective of this event organized by the Secretariat of the Andean Community (a partner of the UNCTAD BioTrade Initiative) is to present the progress on the implementation of the Regional Biodiversity Strategy (RBE) of the Andean Community in complying with the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and to strengthen international cooperation in obtaining the expected results from RBE.


The event will be held for environmental authorities from country members of the Andean Community (CAN), the South American Common Market (MERCOSUR), Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO), the Megadiver Countries and representatives from Multilateral and Inter-Governmental Organizations, NGOs, and donors working in the area of biodiversity.
