Ornamental and edible fish
Paiche (Arapaima gigas) is
one of the most preferred fish in the Amazon and was selected as a
priority to promote tropical edible fish in international markets.
For ornamental fish, Peru is one of the most important
exporters with 108 species exported out of the 150 that have been
identified for their trade potential. The majority of identified
species are harvested in the Amazon region. |
